The Southern armyworm Spodoptera eridania (Stoll) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is a polyphagous defoliator having wide host range including Soybean. They are one of the important defoliators in tropical and subtropical regions hemisphere. However, this pest reported for first time from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India on Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merill].
